iRaiment Further steps
A new smartwatch model has been developed by us.

03.September.2015
OntoLab Further steps
In the last weeks we improved the hardware architectures of the classic closed Virtual Reality Head-Mounted Display (VRHMD) and Mixed Reality Head-Mounted Display (MRHMD) models of our VRontier™ device series once again (see the Originial vs. Inspiration of the 26th of March 2015 and the Further steps of the 11th of June 2015) and correspondingly we can only repeat: This thing gets better and better.

iRaiment Further steps
Thanks to our hardware architecture the battery runtime of our smartwatches increases proportionally with every improvement of the power efficiency of their foundational electronic components, specifically the electric energy storage device, the processor, and the display. In comparison to the specification data given by us using an Organic Light Emitting Diode Display (OLEDD), a manufact- urer using a Liquid Crystal Display (LCD), and a manufacturer using an Active Matrix OLED Display (AMOLEDD) our related smartwatch models should be capable to provide the following estimated run- times (1. row based on our data for OLEDD, 2. row based on external data for LCD, 3. row based on external data for AMOLEDD):

  • battery technology 2
    • 8.5 days
    • 25 days
    • 41 days

    and

  • battery technology 3
    • 59.5 days
    • 175 days
    • 287 days

Either two entities told not the truth or simply redefined what it means to use a smartwatch a full day, or we are even at least 300% farther ahead than we already thought.

We are also short before reducing the power consumption of some components by 60% in the best case. How much this optimization adds to the overall battery runtime of our smartwatches has to be measured in tests at first.

This list is about relevant Further steps related with our accumulat- or/battery (wrist)band publicated so far:

    Paperinium™

    Ontonics Further steps
We made a huge leap with a foundational technology and with its extension. Sadly to say, no product can be realized actually, but a prototype of a mobile device is very fascinating.
In addition, we have already started the development of the missing components some months ago, so that it will take around 18 months until the complete products can be presented.

We also made progress in relation with the basic components and modules of a product series as well as the processes for large scale production, that we have in mind and are working on in parts since many years.

The same holds for another technology that can and should be integrated with these products.

Furthermore, we found out that at least two variants of our next e-paper mentioned on the 15th of August 2015 belong to a larger material class. Accordingly, we have started a new project called Paperinium, that has the goal to research and develop respectively realize more new such materials with outstanding properties. This comprises five materials and the first four compounds of this material class.

Moreover, we adapted a technology in two different ways for the further development of a technology of a different field of application.

    iRaiment Further steps
Since some years already, we wanted to create a series of smart- watches with a classic, minimalistic design for complementing our collection. Even better, our fans made two closely related wishes that we could fulfill simultaneously:
The first wish came from a group, who asked for a classic design without a bezel in favour of a maximal display size.
The second wish came from a group of true watch enthusiats, who said that the model El Primero of the watchmaker Zenith and the model Portuguese of the watchmaker International Watch Company (IWC Schaffhausen) would belong to their favorite watches.

In this respect, we have added our second interpretation of the model Navitimer of the watchmaker Breitling as the Spacetimer II, our new models El Cybero and Cyberport, as well as our interpretat- ions of the model Max Bill of the watchmaker Junghans with the Cybermax, the model Eliros of the watchmaker Maurice Lacroix with the Cyberos, and the model Chronorally of the watchmaker Edox with the Cyberrally, which is our first smartwatch with an optional joystick.

We are pleased to give the information in relation with our press of the 21st century that we plan to publicate Xinhua.OntomaX on our electric newspaper (see the Further steps of the 23rd of August 2015) as well. In this way, we would have at least a service area, which includes Asia, Africa, Australia, Europe, North America, and South America and where more than two-thirds of the world popu- lation live, who all are potential customers.

Also, we made a decisive step with the concept of a revolutionary technology and its applications. Despite that its realization in this stage of development would already be more than enough, we are continuing the work of its improvement.

Furthermore, we developed an electric energy generator for long- term applications that is around 40% more power efficient than similar solutions of the NASA for example.

    Investigations::Car #395

  • Volkswagen→Porsche: In the last months, we discussed our inter- pretations of the model 911 of the marque Porsche of the manu- facture Volkswagen under the project title 9x9, despite being sure for 100% that Porsche will do everything to steal it, and as antici- pated just from the start, exactly this stealing of the concepts behind our 9x9 project has happened and been proved yesterday with the presentation of a concept car of Porsche.
Important to note in this relation is that the sketch collage of the 9x9 variant titled RSR M (second image) consists of three sketches, two made by Alan Derosier and one made by Anthony Colard. In the last past, Porsche already took the design concept of the Porsche 911 Turbo of Alan Derosier for the actual model 911 (991) Turbo. Now, it took the design concept 912 of Alan Derosier together with this doodle and some other publicated and unpublicated works of us, as it can be seen with the other images shown below.
Another important information in relation with the unpublicated works is that at least we were also working on a 4-Seater, that is based on one of our more modern 9x9 interpretations called Modern and similar to the model i8 of the manufacturer Bayerische Motoren- werke, that before has also stolen the design direction discussed here from our model B!, as we explained at that time in the related Investigations::Car.
Besides the related version of our model S 0 S (see the section Further Informations on its webpage), we thought that the design concepts Audi A9 of Daniel Garcia Banos made in the year 2010 and Porsche 929 of Julliana Cho made in the year 2011 would provide additional inspirations for the 4-seater.
Honestly, we found out later that we were not first with the design of this specific front in the style of a model 906, as it can be seen with the design concept 901 of Ege Arguden, and therefore we have not taken this design concept into our considerations, but that does not change anything in this specific case.

    Beyond rocket science™

    Style of Speed Further steps
We extended our range of powertrain technologies with the n-tron (see also the related Further steps of the 21st of July 2015).

Many sports car enthusiasts clearly said that they want an internal combustion engine with an exciting soundscape, like for example a V8. For sure, we from Style of Speed followed their wishes on the one hand without neglecting environmental demands on the other hand.
In this respect, we are approaching the next revolution with our 9x9 project, including the modern interpretation of the model 911 and the next generation of our electrified 9EE. Both variants are config- ured as a 2-seater and based on our chassis (see the Further steps of the 23rd of September 2014 and 4th of March 2015).

The model 9x9 has a powertrain that is based on our invention of the Distributed Engine™ technology (see the related Further steps of the 29th of February 2012) and consists of:

  • a V8, V6, or B6 internal combustion engine with forced induction,
  • one Active Motor directly mounted on the combustion engine,
  • a traction battery
  • at least one Active Differential with Electric Torque Vectoring™, and
  • an electronically controlled torque converter (with lock-up) clutch, but
  • no ordinary transmission and differential, which are substituted by the interplay of the combustion engine and the electric motors.

Besides the forced induction system based on an electric twin-turbo, the internal combustion engine has several other technologies for improving its performances.
The integrated electric motor functions as a starter motor of the combustion engine, a generator to recharge the battery, and a traction motor, which can be used in urban areas and cities.
Depending on the variant, the powertrain also comprises one or more electric traction motors at the rear axle or/and front axle, which can be used for brake energy recuperation as well.

The model 9EE has a Pure Electric™ powertrain based on a special electric energy storage device provided by the OntoLab and also one or more electric motors at the rear and front axles depending on the variant.

The chassis is designed in a modular way in compliance with the different powertrains offering owners the choice to change between the powertrain with the internal combustion engine and the pure electric powertrain in one step or in several smaller steps, and accordingly to change between the 9x9 and the 9EE models. For example, the internal combustion engine based system can be down- sized in favor of an upscaled electric system with more powerful electric motors, a larger electric energy storage, and supplemental control electronics.

The doodle below shows some more basic design lines as already discussed in the past and in the Investigations::Car #395 publicated yesterday.
If there will be light emitting rings as part of the headlights, which are abstracting the shape of the common round headlights of the model 911 and such direction indicators has not been decided. Furthermore, the design of the front section and front fenders as well as other sections of the exterior are work in progress.

Despite it is well known that for example a:

  • fluid coupling or hydraulic coupling has been used in manual trans- missions of automobiles as an alternative to a mechanical clutch, which on the hand is also called hydraulic clutch accordingly and on the other hand has been replaced by the hydrodynamic torque converter,
  • hydrodynamic torque converter normally takes the place of a mechanical clutch in a vehicle with an automatic transmission and is also called torque converter clutch accordingly, and
  • hydroviscous fluid coupling or viscous coupling is used as a:
    • center differential in some four-wheel-drive (4WD) vehicles and
    • Viscous Limited Slip Differential (VLSD) in rear axles, and also
    • is very similar to a multi-plate clutch,

at least one entity claims to be the inventor of one variant of our Distributed Engine™ technology, which we have presented in the year 2012, and to own a related patent.

Said this, we made this point explicit by adding the terms Active Differential #1, Active Differential #2, Limited Slip Differential (LSD), Viscous LSD (VLSD), electronically controlled LSD (eLSD), friction clutch, fluid coupling (lock-up) clutch, (hydro)viscous fluid clutch respectively (hydro)viscous fluid coupling or viscous coupling, hydraulic clutch respectively hydraulic coupling, torque converter (lock-up) clutch, (hydro)viscous torque converter, hydrodynamic torque converter, electronically controlled torque converter, and electromagnetic clutch to the related positions of the webpage of the Distributed Engine technology.
